How can we “prove the Bible”? The proof of the Bible does not lie in explaining how a great fish could swallow Jonah. But prove the message of its pages in your own life, and you know the book is from God. The central message is summed up in the central verse “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” (Psalm 118,8). Could anybody prove my coffee is too sweet for me? You can’t test the faithfulness of God to those who trust Him by means of chemicals, or under a microscope, or in a cyclotron, or by the Quantum theory. Nor do the principles of Logic or the categories of philosophy apply. The only expert is the man who trusts the Lord. God will soon encourage us if we really wish to believe.
