How consoling a thing it is, just moments before we are to appear before God, to remember that we have lived under the auspices of Mary! Let a tender and filial devotion for our good Mother animate you always. Make her loved everywhere, as much as you can. She is the first Superior of the Society. Add to the devotion to Mary the devotion to the glorious Saint Joseph, her most worthy spouse—you know that he is one of our first Patrons. (…) Leading a good religious life is something difficult; but grace helps soften all trials. Jesus and Mary will help you; besides, life is rather short, and eternity will never end. Oh! How consoling a thing it is, just moments before we are to appear before God, to remember that we have lived under the auspices of Mary and in her Society! May that good Mother deign to guard you, multiply you and sanctify you. May the grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communication of the Holy Spirit be with you always.
