How do you artist combat the frustration of being overlooked? Makeup Artistry seems to always be the last minute addition or the I can do it myself for many people. I get approached for many TFP and film work but later find out the hairstylist got paid, the PA, camera crew, stylist, etc all got paid or some form of monetary compensation. (But when i approach people for TFP they tend to say no.) So many people forget that our materials are being used & time spent as well where some other artist arent wasting product. But on the other side we as artist need to continuously build our portfolio and should be testing at least once a week so I dont want to just say no to all TFP jobs. Double edge sword of our industry. Going through morning emails and just wondering.
