(مهلت ارسال مدارك ٣٠ اكتبر) Title: IT Assistant Domain: FU/TEH Post Number: 7270114151TEH Grade: G-5, Only Iranian Nationals may apply for this post Organizational Unit: UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office Primary Location: Islamic Republic of Iran, Tehran Recruitment open to: Both Internal and External candidates Type of contract: Service Contract, Initially for 3 months with possibility of annual renewal upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent Annual salary: US$ 19,200 (under revision) Deadline : 30/October/2014 OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office and direct supervision of the Administrative Officer of UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office, the incumbent will be responsible for providing general information technology services and direct support to computer users for the following tasks: 1. Implementation of ICT strategies and introduction/implementation of new technologies in consultation and conformity with Knowledge Management & Information System (KMI) instructions: • Compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines and procedures for the UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office (UTCO) technology environment; • Elaboration of internal policies and procedures on the use of ICT under KMI’s directives. Elaboration of the content of internal Standard Operating Procedures in consultation with office management; • Provision of support to the use of the connectivity (MPLS, VPN, SSL VPN) for improved business results and improved client services. 2. Effective functioning of the UTCO hardware and software packages: • Provision of advice on maintenance of equipment and acquisition of hardware supplies, making routine repairs and change of hardware electronic components; • Supervision of the implementation of corporate UNESCO systems; • Supervision of upgrading patch and anti-virus programme on a timely basis 3. Networks administration: • Operation of network utility procedures, defining network users and security attributes, establishing directories, menus and drive-mappings, configuring network printers and providing user access; • Trouble-shooting and monitoring of network problems; • Response to user needs and questions regarding network access; • Implementation of backup and restoration procedures for local drives. Maintenance of backup logs. Organization of off-site storage of backups; • Timely LAN Infrastructure and Internet connectivity upgrade to meet UTCO’s requirements 4. Provision of web management services: • Identification of the opportunities and ways of converting business processes into web-based systems to address the issues of efficiency (office management system, donor profile software, knowledge management systems); • Updating UTCO web site with the latest content approved by Director of UTCO, and provision of support for the development of a bi-monthly e-newsletter. 5. Provision of administrative support: • Provision of advice on and assistance in procurement of new equipment for UTCO and projects; • provision of technical specifications and information on best options in both local and international markets, review of quotations and bids; • Maintenance of an up-to-date inventory of software, hardware, and stock of supplies and spare parts in coordination with administration unit; • Maintenance of the e-filling system and ensuring the safe keeping of confidential materials; research and retrieval of data from internal and external sources, preparation of statistical charts, tables and reports; provision of ICT support to key events including trainings for UTCO staff; • Assist in training UTCO staff in telecommunication radio procedure and rules; assist in managing security and telecom equipment (HF/VHF) radio, satellite phones etc 6. Additional activities that may be required to ensure the success of the team work REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: university level education in Computer Science. Work Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience, including ICT administrative support, network administration, web management services, support to management of hardware and software platforms, telecommunications facilities, knowledge of Windows-based applications, preferably with the UN system, with good records of performance. Sound experience of working for senior management, ability to work under stress, familiar with UN systems and government mechanism, and keen to work in a team environment. Skills/Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Service oriented and team builder, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners. Languages: Excellent Farsi and English language. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Skills/Competencies: Drive for results, persuading and influencing, coping with pressure and setbacks Languages: Knowledge of French would be an asset.
