How does one create a popular, fun, and active place? Heres a workshop to learn the skills of what urban designers call placemaking. A successful design is often one that blends the space into the natural flow of pedestrian behavior -- it identifies and removes obstacles to engagement, and it conforms to the way people would instinctively wish to use the space.
