How many of yall listen to music a lot? I listen to it constantly. I have passed that trait, if you can call it that, on to my child. I had her singing in her car seat when she wasnt even 2 yet. Her first full sentence was in the car with my Mom when my Mom changed the radio station, Bri fussed and said, I lacked dat song. So my Mom put that song back on, lol. So, Im really liking an artist named Mandisa. Im attaching a song that inspired todays Bible Study. It is called What Scars Are For. The verses it brought up in my mind are Isaiah 53: 4-5. Isaiah 53 4-5: Common English Bible (CEB) 4 It was certainly our sickness that He carried, and our sufferings that He bore, but we thought Him afflicted, struck down by God and tormented. 5 He was pierced because of our rebellions and crushed because of our crimes. He bore the punishment that made us whole; by His wounds we are healed. I dont think theres any need to break down these verses. Of course the verses are speaking of what Jesus did for us up on that Cross. He endured physical and mental pain that no man or woman should EVER have to endure, just to save US from our future and past sins. Dear Lord, Thank You that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior into this world. Thank You that He died for our sins and paid for them and came back from the dead. Thank You, Lord, that we have life and forgiveness BECAUSE of Him. We ask that you heal the scars, not just physical scars, but the ones in our hearts and souls caused by bad things happening to us right now or from things that happened to us in our past. Please let us learn to know as part of the song below talks about scars, They show me where Ive been and Im not there anymore. Lord I pray that our Bible Study will prepare our hearts to bring the message of Jesus to a lost and dying world. Help us, Lord, by opening our minds and hearts. Make us diligent students of the Bible so that we will have an answer to give to those who see hope, happiness, and love living in us because of YOU living in us! We thank You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
