How much faith does it take? How much? Matthew 14:25-33 the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water, and were afraid until they saw that it was He. What does it take for us to step out of our comfort zone? The bible says Peter asked Jesus: Bid me come unto thee on the water. And Jesus said come. The passage goes on to speak of Peter stepping out, and walking so far, then falling in. Jesus then asking him: O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? We as flesh oft times focus on the negative, sure Peter fell in because he doubted for a time; but ask yourself this; how much faith did it take just to be bold enough to ask? Let alone step out.... Jesus granted Peters wish simply because Peter believed he could through the power of Christ. We can all learn a lesson from this, first because it shows us that NOTHING is impossible with Him. ( walking on water represents this) if we ask and believe without doubting. It also shows us that He is faithful to honor our request of Him if we have faith.(Peter asked, and Jesus said Come). It also shows us that Jesus is faithful to pull us out of the tumultuous waters when our faith isnt strong enough... Amen. There have been many times when I tried to do things on my own, when I should have just put them in the masters hands. Times when I let doubt get the better of me, and found myself sinking, drowning, when I should have had the faith to step out....and walk. But how many of you know, He is faithful to reach down and grab hold of our hand in our time of need... If we trust Him, He will never let us drown. He is always right on time, every time. Just ask Peter.... Amen. When we arent strong enough He is! Praise Him for that. Father I thank you for reaching down, and grabbing my hand... I praise you for catching me when I go under, because I am not strong enough as flesh. You alone are worthy to be praised. Help us Lord to learn to first ask, second believe, and most importantly have the boldness to step out and walk toward you. In Jesus mighty name I ask.. Amen.
