How quickly one can go from being a “close friend” to not a - TopicsExpress

How quickly one can go from being a “close friend” to not a friend anymore is incredibly cruel. No, actually, it’s disheartening. Aren’t friendships supposed to stand the test of time? Put through the dryer, the wringer, and still remain intact? And when they do, aren’t they supposed to grow stronger? But what happens when one friend doesn’t give the other the benefit of the doubt? What happens when two versions of a story were never told? When leaves have fallen, do they laugh it off and take it in stride? Or do they part ways and bury their friendship forever? Aren’t they suppose to sort out the differences, move past them, and carry on forward – together? Sure and inevitably someone may have gotten hurt along the way. But for sure, none of which was planned. But the reality is, it’s not that black-and-white. Most times, it’s an ugly shade of gray. Friendship isn’t always about forgiving and forgetting. Apparently some mistakes are irreversible. Apparently, there are invisible lines that run through every friendship, which if crossed can instantly disintegrate the friendship into dust.
