Howdy Michael Parsons I had a listen to the show you and the gang did on friday evening filling in for the Cosmic Cowboy and I heard you talking about a 10 year old Keith Urban. I have a copy of The Northern Daily Leader dated Monday Jan 31 1977 on the front page there is a story about the Five year old Awards and that they estimate that somewhere between 2000 and 5000 fans had converged on Tamworth. Also in the paper were pics of people you may know. The block line that goes with the Keith Urban pic reads: Nine-year-old Keith Urban of Brisbane, unwinds after taking out the Under 10 section of the quest with his version of Lights on the Hill. The block line that goes with the pic of Smokey Reads: The Mayor of Tamworth Alderman Norm McKellar joins in the country music spirit with entertainer Smokey Dawson at the hands of Fame Corner in the CWA Park. The pic of Ray Kernaghan and the snap of Ronnieboy have captions attached to pic. I was in Tamworth for my gorgeous cousin, Margies wedding, and on stage at West Leagues that night was William Shakespear in a duck egg blue jumpsuit.... It was a shocker but i was there with my gal and a bunch of cousins, woofin down the schooners and havin a mess of fun. I was three months off 23 when this snap was take.
