Exactly 40 years ago (Oct 24, 1973), Soun of Ogbomosoland, HRM, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade lll CON emerged the Soun-Elect after defeating his elder brother in a contest. This came after Oba Salami Ajiboye Itabiyis demise on June 2 1973. Oba Oladunni Oyewumi was installed on Dec 14 later in the year and his coronation came up on Jan 12, 1974 during which he boldly and daringly a beaded crown against the wish of some First Class traditional rulers in Yorubaland. Like a true warrior he put on the crown thereby increasing the prestige, honour and status of Sound Institution. All hail to the monarch. Remember to wish him well today.
