Howdy, just a short note or few. Had a great time in Plano, TX train show and RS Luncheon, the family had a great time (Myself, Wife, Son, Daughter and Son in law) on the visit, since my daughter and son in law moved to the DAL/Plano area in Nov, greater reason to go on a nice weekend too! SW OK area RR news Chickasha Sub BNSF put in a new talking HBDED (hotbox/dragging equip detector) at MP 679.x, east of SCR 212 (US RT 62 MM47), also this is about 1.x mi East of Gavilon Grain via RT 62. Plus, I think they are still working on trestle replacements. Farmrail and WT&J did a Grain xfer, from North to Altus, xferd to WT&J and off to Wichita Falls last week. Farmrail today (1/19/15) swapped out Shorty Sand Hoppers cars in Altus Yard. Semi trucks were lined up and waiting to load up, so a swap out in need it was, and Farmrail set out the Empties for BNSF to pick up, about 20 cars it looked like. Power was GNBC 626, 8081. Altus yard has some new ground work being done, lots of truck movement areas made. Old CenTex centerbeams cars are gone from the yard, must have gone toward Snyder like the other set was. SLWC has been doing the Wallboard moves about 2x a week from Duke. Cotton: Ginning and Bailing still on going at places, loads coming up from the North lands to Altus Cotton warehouse folks to store, and ship out at a later date. Wheat: Green around the fields here, just need some good rains to fall to make something happen for a great harvest... need much rain to fill the lakes, 9.5% in Altus/Lugert (Sadly, No Irrigation this year so far), 19.5% about in Tom Steed. The City of Altus Resvr in town is very low. Water news... Heads Up…. State Impact on Drought in SW OK. stateimpact.npr.org/oklahoma/2015/01/15/drought-stricken-oklahoma-communities-dealing-with-prospect-of-dead-lakes/ This gives you wag on it is getting to the point of not good looking.... hoping for better! That is it from here for now. Ron Roman Altus, OK
