Human beings will not evolve until religion no longer clouds the judgment and justifies the actions of people, blindly following teachings and rules laid down by (and lets get this clear because God doesnt write) ancient man, as a form of control for primitive people is not a way forwards, but a desperate attempt to put meaning to life. Blindly believing the words and teachings of religious text at face value is nothing short of stupidity, it prevents inspirational creative thoughts, it prevents finding answers beyond the will of God, the pure hypocrisy of belief systems that allow for a deity to be responsible for creation of everything, that the simple fact that several religions exist is proof of the fact that while there may be some historical accuracy, all of the worship and rituals and rules have been made by human beings with control agendas. There are many other problems with the world I know, but this is a big one and it needs to stop. The universe and existence are things to be pondered and worked out for yourself, limiting your thinking to God is ridiculous, even if in the end it turns out there is a god, whats the point of being alive, having a brain that can solve problems and has creative thoughts and ideas, if you accept the easiest answer from the outset? What is there to work out if the rules are written in a several thousand year old book? religion is the death of free thought, a primitive throw back to early society, and the number 1 thing stopping everyone from having a chance at getting along with each other on a world wide basis. If you are religious, and have read this and now think Im some sort of heathen, then you have proved my point.
