Hunter ceiling fans...just sent this to the Hunter - TopicsExpress

Hunter ceiling fans...just sent this to the Hunter Corp. Sirs, I am really disappointed with Hunter Fans. Ive had two different units fail in the last 2 years. The 1st one was a ceiling bedroom fan, youre guaranteed for life model. Yes, I have contacted you before... Your original model style, cast iron, heavy as heck, radial model. Your claim to fame. Slowly but surely stopped rotating. I took it down twice, not an easy feat due to the weight, cleaned out any and all dust and debris. It just gave up the ghost... It has since been trashed and replaced by a competitors model. The 2nd one died yesterday, after months of working, not working. Having to pay an Electrician to come by and re-check my wiring... In my living room, a remote, lifetime model. Yes, batteries changed, fan disassembled and cleaned, heavy SOB also. Your Tech ppl indicated it may be the receiving/sending remote control unit has failed. I cannot do this again, take down, replace parts, hope it works...wait for the inevitable. Not gonna happen. This one also will be replaced by anothers... There was a time when Hunter ruled. King of all above. Well my friends, you have become what may be by decree, Designed Obsolescence. Engineer a less expensive product to keep up with the Jones in order not to lose Market Share. Exactly what General Motors practiced in the 70s & 80s. My Uncle worked for GM his entire life. Our arguments were intense... Damned near killed them. If not for a government bailout, GM would be no more. Unfortunately for you Uncle Sam has no vested interest in Hunter Fans. Saddens me. I swore by Hunter products. Although I do currently own a GM product and no Hunter products. In business, its MUCH harder to regain a clients confidence once said client has left vs getting new business. Getting new business is the easy part. As I am sure you are well aware, a lost client will never tell you truthfully why you were abandoned. May 2015 be a deciding year for you. It certainly will be for me.
