I AM ALREADY DEFINED 1 Corinthians 12:27 - “NOW YOU ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST” FROM THE FILES OF CURRY JUS’ SAYIN’ The traditionalist looks at this passage and uses it to speak about the body of Christ, that is, how the body is diverse, yet one. This morning, as I examine the position I find myself in at forty eight years old, I am inclined to have a party, not like the dinner my family held on November 4th 2013 when we celebrated my birthday. In contrast, this is a one woman party. Yes, it is a party without guests and party paraphernalia. Have you organized similar parties? Of course not! My EReaders are people who “gat it together.” You do not know what it means to feel unaccomplished, lonely, tired, hopeless and helpless. You do not know what it means to be broke, busted, bruised and battered. You have never walked paths of brokenness, emptiness, loneliness, worthlessness and singleness. “You gat it going on!” Oh? What is it that you are saying? I am so sorry. I hear you EReaders. I am so so so sorry. I forgot I met some of you on Broken Street, Single Alley, Broke Boulevard and Empty Avenue. I forgot some of you tried to invite me to attend your pity party, and I refused, because at that time in my life everything “was good.” I totally forgot, and I humbly submit my apology. EReaders, you see why I like writing to you. Like me, you have scars. Because you have them, I know you appreciate the nuggets that I extract from the WORD. This morning, God gave me three words from this text..well, it was three initially. “NOW…YOU ARE” Using the word NOW, God reminded me that I am not the Tee of the past, neither do I live in the circumstances of the NOW. I live on the promises and blessings afforded to members of the body of Christ. Thank you Father for reminding me that the Tee of the present is defined based on the redemptive power of your Son, Jesus Christ. Please, help me give God praise for not using the Tee of the past and her life’s present circumstances to define me. People with scars, let me hear you say GLORY! I feel you. Further, I heard the Lord say, “TEE, YOU ARE”, but He did not stop there. He proceeded to fill in the blanks, before people got in my business. Others tried to tell me who I am by filling in my blank spaces, but I took God’s fillers, for they are contemporary, timely, accurate, prophetic, meaningful, life changing and …Past labels, such as unaccomplished, poor are usually placed in the blank spaces, by me as well as others, but God said to me this morning, “ I have filled in the blanks, for your fillers and others are not according to my definition. They are not important.” In addition to fillers, I am challenged EReaders, because I allow the present circumstances of life to define me; hence, resulting in depression, tears, discouragement, stealing the REAL NOW that God has given me. It means that my eyes are so clouded by life’s circumstances; I cannot see the opportunities that are “right before my eyes.” Are you feeling me EReaders? I become like the man “caught up” in being shipwrecked and cannot see the yacht that God sent to deliver him. CARPE DIEM, although my philosophy, is something I am unable to do because I because I fail to live in the NOW that Paul is speaking about in this text. EReaders, I love God. He recognizes where we are at, and He gives us that word to move us from our various dispositions. God led me to include four additional words, for He God wanted me to see the only label that is important. God said, Tee, “NOW YOU ARE, NOT WHAT PEOPLE SAY, BUT SISTER GIRL, HONEY CHILD, MY QUEEN, MY DAUGHTER….YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE ROYAL FAMILY … THE BODY OF CHRIST.” Can you hear me shouting EREADERS? GLOOOOOOORRRRRYYYYYYYY!!!! God wanted to make sure that I got the correct label, and that I convey that to the enemy that His daughter ain’t your baby mama, gofer, side kick, average Joe blow, Johnny/Suzie come lately, one night stand, side kick, hully gully, jive turkey, and sweet thang. God really wanted to make sure that I got the correct label, and that I convey that His daughter ain’t defined by external or physical attributes/ construct (DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE SIXTY HIPS), marital/relational status (DO NOT THINK ABOUT DIVORCE), or professional labels but she has been defined as ROYALTY…TEE YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE BODY OF CHRIST! Listen, hear this. As a member of that body of Christ, when I step into YOUR SPACE, I BRING COME DEFINED….I BRING GOD’S DEFINTION. GLORY! EReaders I forge my way ahead with a greater appreciation that I walk in a NOW DEFINTION, AND ONE THAT IS NOT 1. Based on my past 2. Based on present circumstances 3. Based on my attributes, be they physical or professional 4. Based on my marital or relational status 5. Based on what man or woman says 6. Based on public opinion 7. Based on political persuasion 8. Based on age 9. Based on titles, accolades….. Finally, I walk in a NOW DEFINTION that gives my status as ROYALTY! MEMBER OF THE BODY OF CHRIST. EReaders hold on to this nugget, for throughout our lives people will want to Take us to the past, and use it to define us Define us based on their perception Define us thinking that they gave or are giving definition to our lives. EReaders, circumstances will seek to define us, and cause us NOT TO CARPE DIEM We will redefine ourselves and forget this definition given by GOD. I am posting to let others know that when they encounter ME I am already defined by God. To be defined by God means that I bring greater meaning to my relationship with you. I AM ALREADY DEFINED - WHEN I STEP INTO YOUR SPACE, I BRING GOD’S DEFINTION. GLORY! I WALK WITH A NOW DEFINTION that gives my status as ROYALTY - MEMBER OF THE BODY OF CHRIST.
