I HATE TO SAY I TOLD YOU SO, BUT..CALL TO ARMS PEEPS Contact Energy changes rate for electricity generation customers. Please re post, dont even want a credit just get the work out. Sorry capitalisation is to distinguish my comments from their doublespeak. They must have an extremely low opinion of their Customers if they think this will fly without consequences. Anyway lets fire for effect as they say. 8 cents /kWh buy-back is not part of our Solar future either is Contact, they have ruled themselves out by pure greed, how much did they make last year divided by how many Solar customer do they have, 500, 1000? peanuts, Lets turn Contact into a contact sport. If you are a Solar supporter with or without Solar drop them like a hot brick and jump to Meridian Energy ASAP 0800 496 496 , they are still paying reasonable money. 43% (NZ Herald Element) of NZers are considering Solar. Contact must be illiterate, Vote with your feet Monday morning. Lets overload the Meridian call centre. FIRST AS ALWAYS FOLLOW THE MONEY, THE NEW SHAREHOLDERS MUST BE REWARDED NOT THE DAMN CUSTOMERS THAT MADE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. PAID FOR THE INFRASTRUCTURE, PAID THEIR WAGES PAID AND PAID Now lets look at the important lines of press release Contact changes rate for electricity generation customers Friday, 31 October 2014, 10:08 am Press Release: Contact Energy 31 October 2014 AT LEAST THE DATE IS THE TRUTH AT LEAST, ALWAYS ON FRIDAYS HOPING WE WILL FORGET BY MONDAY. THEY THINK WE ARE STUPID. Contact changes buy back rate for new distributed electricity generation customers THEY KNOW THEY WONT BE GETTING ANYMORE RENEWABLE CUSTOMERS THATS THE PLAN, FOLLOW THE MONEY From 1 November 2014, Contact is changing the rate paid to all new distributed generation customers for excess electricity they generate and sell back to the electricity grid to 8c/kWh excluding GST. I.E. THEY DONT WANT YOUR FUTURE BUSINESS, FOLLOW THE MONEY Distributed generation is a term that describes small scale electricity generation that is installed by consumers close to their source of energy use, which in home use within New Zealand is typically wind or solar generation. Consumers then use the electricity they generate to power their home or business, purchasing any additional electricity required from the electricity grid via their energy retailer and also selling any excess electricity generated back to their energy retailer. “Our new distributed generation electricity buy back rate signals Contact’s desire not to favour one particular renewable electricity form over another and is in line with the cost of purchasing new forms of renewable energy,” says Contact Chief Executive, Dennis Barnes. WHAT ABOUT ALLOWING FOR ALL YOUR INHERENT LINES AND TRANSFORMER LOSSES THATS WORTH SOMETHING? SUPPORTING AND EXTENDED OVERLOADED POWER LINES DEFERRING REPLACEMENT, ENCOURAGING EFFICIENCY ETC. “Contact is a huge supporter of renewable generation - last financial year almost 70% of our total electricity generation came from our five geothermal power stations and two hydro power stations. DOUBLESPEAK! YEAH HUGE SUPPORTER, RIGHT... SO MUCH THAT THEY HAVE REDUCED THEIR BUY-BACK RATE BY OVER 50%. JUST B.S. AND SPIN, FOLLOW THE MONEY. I HATE TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THEY WERE NOT A HUGE SUPPORTER. “We also hold consents to build further geothermal generation which we will explore in years ahead when market conditions signal the need for new or replacement generation capacity.” WHO CARES? WE WILL ALL HAVE SOLAR BY THE TIME THEY GET OFF THEIR ASSES - NEW GENERATION WONT BE NEEDED AND THEY KNOW IT. YOU GUESSED IT FOLLOW THE MONEY Contact’s new distributed generation electricity buy back rate change is the first in over five years and is competitive with other energy retailers’ rates, which are from 3.5c/kWh and upwards. B.S. MERIDIAN PAY MAX 25c THEY HAVE PICKED THE WORST POSSIBLE FOR AN EXAMPLE, PROBABLY GENESIS, MORE SPIN AND B.S. The price change only applies to new distributed electricity generation customers, although buy-back rates for all distributed customers are subject to change with 30 days’ notice as per Contacts terms and conditions of supply. EXISTING CUSTOMERS ARE NEXT, JUMP TO MERIDIAN ASAP ENDS LETS END THEIR BUSINESS, IF CANT THEY SEE THE SOLAR FUTURE COMING AND ALLOW FOR IT THEY DONT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS. Could have easily been re written truthfully very easily. Because the Gummint sold us, our new Shareholders are demanding that we extract every single red cent we can, so we are not making enough out of our very small number of existing and new renewable customer, so we want you to f**k off, because we cant work out how to make more money out of you. This solar thing might take off and we dont have a plan, so rather than create dialogue with you on how we can all win, just go away At least I would have respected the truth. Full release below, if you feel like a chunder with all the sickly BS. PR bunnies are just asking for it. scoop.co.nz/stories/BU1410/S01121/contact-changes-rate-for-electricity-generation-customers.htm And they can consider themselves lucky Im in a good mood.
