I MOVED BACK TO MAHOMAT’S TIN HOUSE. I went to visit Mahomat - TopicsExpress

I MOVED BACK TO MAHOMAT’S TIN HOUSE. I went to visit Mahomat and paid him $60.00 rent for two weeks. I took my receipt dispenser with me and got him to sign the receipt for rent. I dropped in at the Centrelink office to give them the change of address details and they took the receipt. I gave the duplicate to Mahomat to use for tax purposes. I had all my things packed. I phoned several companies including Black And White Taxi Trucks. They couldn’t do nothing due to be moving from their Mcdonald Rd depot at Windsor. I phoned the company that moved me from Clayfield before, the same two guys with the blue furniture truck came very reluctantly. I got them to take Leo’s old bath tub first. The two kitchen dressers were fixed and painted like new since I rebuilt them and repainted them with white paint from tins that I found in the Council rubbish. I didn’t have anywhere near as much stuff as when they moved me before. Wastepaper bins were emptied also. I called for the glass truck to empty the now three drums couple of days before. The driver could not believe it to see how much glass I had collected, he paid me cash on the spot and told me to leave the drums for further use. I told him that I’ll put them in the backyard, near the fence and let people throw their bottles in. He agreed on that and left. The furniture movers moved me back to the little house and were impressed with the driveway. Was this place a cane field or something? The driver asked. No, it was a grass jungle when I first lived there before even moving to Clayfield where you moved me from. Is that the reason for your lawn mower? Yes it is. The Lebanese won’t do anything to clean up, even to cut the grass, but they still want the money. Typical he said. Trouble with him was, he was Jewish and hated the Arabs. I wouldn’t pay rent he said, and I would take a gun and shoot them. I gave him part payment and told him to wait until I call him, it may take two fortnights, but he will get his money in full. He seemed to agree with me about it, but he had alternative ideas of his own. He did like the red trolley that he would put a flat board on to use for furniture removal because it was perfect. I had to get the electricity put on in my name, so that cost me money. My phone was there, but the floor on the front landing was rotten and needed changing. More about the problem later.
