I NOW HAVE THE FULL FACTS (this horse is not a mini), and the owner has given me permission to post as a danger alert. I lost my beautiful mare due to a fence injury, (8 months of care and constant veterinary treatment - an $2K later - her fence injury didnt heal right (was to the hoof, her hoof stopped growing) She was in a well fenced paddock but not electrified, I cannot urge members enough tho hot-wire their paddocks. This horse is 18, and was playing with another horse over the fence (as has done for years) somehow its tongue was caught on a star picket - and this is the result, GOOD NEWS - the tongue has been stitched, and the horse is still alive. A full recovery would be good. As Rob Collis and Mel Cowen have attested to, they have seen worse and the horse healed (I have no idea how those tongue injuries happened).
