I WAS CALLED TO HELP, PLEASE BA POST WE ARE MOURNING. STOP LIES The Post Newspaper has just published a special afternoon edition Sata Dies. In the edition, they allege that Emmanuel Mwamba, former Permanent Secretary of Information, took over Special Asssistant to the Press Office at State House. I am aware that the credibility of the paper has significantly waned and allegations they make might not warrant a rebuttal for fear of giving credibility and dignity to the allegations. On this historical day, with Gods grace, I played a minute but significant role. I was awakened at 01;30hrs. I and Anthony Mukwita were tasked to draft a special message to the nation that could be used by government. By 05;45hrs, ministers had arrived for a special and emergency Cabinet Meeting. When Cabinet gathered to sit, they considered among many things the proposed address to the nation that we had drafted. The concern by all leaders was the immediate address to the nation as the information on the death of President Sata had been circulating for six hours since midnight 28th October 2014. I am glad that Eddie Mwanaleza had arrived and his office helped print the corrected draft. Cabinet tasked the Secretary to Cabinet to read this approved statements which was done and released to the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation. I rarely engage in clarifications and corrections with the The Post. But on this day, let us mourn His Excellency Mr. Michael Chilufya Sata, President of the Republic of Zambia with dignity and honour. I would rather spend my energies reflecting on the successful life of President Sata and his achievements in his ambitious political life, than respond to The Posts malicious and unfounded allegations.
