I abhor seeing the killing of innocent people and children as much as the next person. However, does this Holocaust survivor position mean that they agree that Israel has no right to exist? It appears so. In this article, thats exactly what it comes down to, because thats the consistent Palestinian position in Gaza and precisely the reason for the war (following the establishment of the State of Israel that is). So, I dont quite get the Holocaust Survivor position here. Is there something here that those survivors and their offspring know that I dont? Did Hitler not also see that Jews had no right to exist? Clearly, if the State of Israel were accepted as legitimate, Israel would have no need to harm or obstruct its neighbors in any way, shape or form? But, you cant get there from here, is what historys post-establishment of Israel has proven. So, this is where they stay, at war, while the world watches helplessly. Also, can two countries or people be at war for so long, killing innocent people, and there be no racism created. Yes, there is racism and that racism was either created or exasperated by the long history of killings, nothing surprising there. But since Israel and Palestinians cant agree to disagree like civilized nations, then they have no choice but to agree to be at war. Israel has never been allowed to have peace in the region. Now, Im not surprised that they may no longer want it either. Hate precipitates more hate and the offspring is death. Hamas intolerance of Israel seeds Israels intolerance of Hamas and innocent Palestinians pay the price along with the many not so innocent Palestinians. There is a lack of compromise on both sides of this fence, the proverbial question is; which came first the chicken or the egg.
