I absolutely hit a wall this morning, texted my husband and told him I couldnt take it any more..........there has been very little sleep up here. Starting around 12:30 am, we had the monitor bells go off 5 times, the hospital went into lock down briefly when someone activated a door alarm on the baby floor.......(ladies your babies are safe a Baptist....they have a plan and know how to use it.) which initiated blaring horns and staff at every door. In between all this Jon David is doing a lot of coughing at night, which requires two handed pushing, we HAVE to get his lungs clearer to get him out of here, this is a mini work out for me. Then Dr. Delap, our early bird doctor decided to make a 3:30 am visit this morning......really?! This wakes Jon David up and we start the coughing thing again for two hours. There was not one 15-20 min opportunity to get some sleep. By 6:00.....I was over it and totally DONE! Dave took off work and came up to the hospital to relieve me, but we ended up not leaving until 1:00! Dr. Kiser came in this morning and set Jon David for some X-rays and echocardiogram. This is to check the fluid around the heart, his chest and spleen. We did not get those results before I left there. We had several visitors today, Gene Doyle was outside our door this morning! I think all the AB kids at one point or another are HIS kids so he came up to check on Jon David. Reni Golnik, brought me an arm load of magazines and it was good to see her sweet face! While we were visiting with a doctor, Joyce Wilson left us some awesome soup and bread along with some razorback celebration items for the Hog game tomorrow! So sweet and thoughtful! During this week we have had the tiniest hospital room, weve ever stayed in and apparently the smallest one on this floor according to the nurses. With Jon Davids chair and the additional medical equipment we have added this week, its requiring a little ingenuity getting the nurses doctors and therapists in there. I dont know if the nurses got tired of it or they took pity on us, but as they started discharging people for the weekend, they put us in a bigger room! But the best part is.......we now have another bed! So excited! I wont be heartbroken to leave my little bench! However I am a little ticked that Dave gets to spend his first night at the hospital in the bed! Jk Jodi was off today so she came up this afternoon to stay with Jon David, so I could go home and sleep. She got the fun task of moving all our stuff over to the other room. Dave went back up tonight and I get to sleep in MY bed. Not sure who is happier, me or all the animals..... The AR. Spinal Cord commission had their yearly 1 day convention today in Benton. Jon David and I had been looking forward to attending it . I was excited to meet other Arkansas Families that I have been talking to on FB the past year, as well as attend some different seminars they were having. But after the past few days of no sleep and trying to figure out what was going on with Jon David.......it just wasnt possible to get away and go. I missed some afternoon visitors when I went home, Kim Jirik, Sister in law Diane, and Jen Goodwin came up tonight. Im sure they would not have liked the person they would have encountered if I had been there! But I am so sorry I didnt get to see them. So we dont expect to see to many doctors or have to much medical stuff going on this weekend, other than to continue to try and clear his chest. We are still on one antibiotic, he continues to have temps off and on during the say.....but not over 102, and eating is a huge priority and challenge. A BIG thank you to all the people that continue to pray for us and lift us up. You are all so thoughtful and caring and you have been a big blessing! Thank you so much! Sweet dreams......Im gonna enjoy every second if being in MY bed! Love, Jacki
