I actually visited a newsstand last week. I was looking for photography magazines to see whats happening in the camera domain. I noticed there are almost no computer magazines anymore. PC-Magazine is now only an eZine. PC World still has a newsstand presence, but I get them as an eZine. MaximumPC remains, both on the newsstands and as an eZine. But there are at least a dozen magazines for Mac users. (Obviously, they need more help than PC-users?) Its ironic, because the Mac is less than 10% of the PC market. Meanwhile, for those who are truly interested in hardware, MaximumPC remains my favorite geekout. The writers have genuine personalities, they know their stuff well, and they test the equipment the way its supposed to be tested -- until the motherboards start smoking and the fire department arrives. (Ive visited the labs, what fun!) I recommend subscribing, but even if you dont, the website is still the best way to keep up on important computer news. maximumpc/
