I agree completely about this obvious, politically motivated, tempest in a teacup. I think there is clear evidence of a well-funded network of right wing extremists actively involved in inciting fear & hatred - and that group is the Abbott administration and their maggot media. So, how real is the real threat level? To give some perspective, about 2% of the Australian population (or about 480,000) is Muslim. How many of those follow Sharia law? If we compare the proportion of Muslim women to the number who wear the Burqa (French statistics 0,0005% of the Muslim population.) But what about the raids? We had 800 police arrest 15 other people, one person charged with what is basically a thought crime. With the new indefinite detention, removal of habeus corpus and right-to-torture laws, the government will make him say whatever they like. FBI data shows that only 6% of terrorists activity is committed by Muslims. Where do Muslim fundamentalists come from? On 11/9 2,966 Americans died. In our incursion into Iraq that followed, we left 1,455,590 dead Iraqis (for something they didnt do.) Thats a lot of resentments we built among the survivors including two million orphan that we left in Iraq. The current pogrom by this government on followers of Islam is redolent of the Immigration ministers endless propaganda about illegals. But far from being any threat, only about 2% of asylum seekers come by boat. When you start to look at the facts, it becomes clear that weve been lied to for a very long time. The Abbott administration has thrown a barbed wire fence around Sovereign Australia and herds the sheeple with dog whistles and false alarms, just like his mentor, J W Howard did before him. Australians fall for it every time.
