I agree with his premise that we have a strong tendency to view news from sources that we agree with. I definitely do too. My problem, however, is that I can see that the analysis on FOX veers toward nonsense and I just dont see that with Maddow, ODonnell, Hayes, Matthews. Harris-Perry, Sharpton. They have a liberal point of view, but their arguments do hold water. FOX puts forward a lot of absolute fantasy. As I think about how we became so polarized, it seems to be that when the far right captured most of radio and added FOX, it invited a strong response from more rational voices.....thus MSNBC filled the void in that discussion. CNN walks a fine line; sometimes this way, sometimes that, but in general theyre fair. The New York times is a fabulous resource as are many magazine sources.....the Economist (definitely not Liberal, but professional and it looking nothing like FOX and talk radio - Economist is where I would hope real Republicans would find like minds), Atlantic, Time, Wall Street Journal (another good resource on the conservative side) to name a few. I guess what Im saying is FOX and right-wing talk radio are sources that help NO-ONE. I cant bear them and some folks want a steady diet of that stuff.
