I always seem to get stuck writing when I have to get one - TopicsExpress

I always seem to get stuck writing when I have to get one character/set of characters from point A to point B. Its really irritating because its the details I get hung up on. Anyway, I need a way for character A to figure out where character B is. Character B is up to illegal things, so obviously theyd want to be discreet about it (theyve been planning this for years and theyre not a total idiot). I have this idea that the characters follow the trail to a bar (where the person he kidnapped was last seen) and find out that he left with a guy who drove him home because he was over the limit. (Actually the kidnapper drugged the kidnappee to make him think he was in a worse condition than he actually was). So I thought maybe the cars registration was spotted somewhere near them and so they just go there and look around. But again, if the cars accounted for, the police could easily find the kidnapper. The kidnapper also wants revenge on the protagonist, so itd be nice if it turned out that he deliberately left a trail for her to follow. But at the same time, Im finding it tricky setting a trap that would specifically trap HER and not lead any police his way. Really all I need is for them to figure out where the bad guy is. The rest of the plot handles itself. Any suggestions?
