I am a teacher in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. I hereby confess that I have failed in my duty to educate the youth of my country. The aftermath of my failure is reflected in the heinous crimes against humanity perpetrated by the terrorists. If I had taught them the lesson of mercy, compassion and love, they would not have done what they have been doing for the last so many years.... what they have done yesterday in the Army Public School Peshawar...... Had I not failed as a teacher, our politicians, our law enforcing agencies and other state institutions would not have miserably failed in their respective duties to safeguard the lives and honor of thousands of innocent civilians of Pakistan .... I have failed. Pakistani academia has failed. It is the complete break down of our education system that has led us to the state we find ourselves in today.... I tender my apology to the nation.... My head is hung in shame, misery and grief....
