I am against pay cut measure proposed by Uhuru. This is a dangerous policy that doesn’t respect economic sense. My reasons: Life is harder now than it was last year. I prefer Uhuruto doubling their salaries if it means them working, making our dreams possible. I see pay cut is a Presidential populist game with our lives and livelihoods. Take this to the bank: pay cut policy is illegal and not implementable. Pay cut can only be voluntary. Uhuru is digging in for another embarrassment from the courts. Here is my practical solutions to the wage bill problem: a) Wage war on corruption at all levels in the government. Billions of money is lost in corruption, b) fire idlers in the parallel county structure called county/subcounty /regional commissioners, c) Fire all the Ghost workers, non performing civil servants and retire the old ones in the civil service, d) improve service delivery in govt ministries and depts. Speed up service delivery. Kenyans waste millions of working hours in this offices trying to necessary services, e) Reduce the number of commissioners in each of the Constitutional Commissions, f) Increase tax base by bringing more Kenyan into job opportunities. How? Stabilizing foreign direct investment environment by improving security, speeding up licensing process and encouraging rule of law not rule of men, g) It is time for 24 hour economy. remember your campaign promise? Improve security and give subsidies to businesses that take challenge of 24 hr economy, h) Lift the ban on night travel. People make money in time. Goods and service do not need to sleep. This will create more jobs through better use of time; roadside eateries, bodaboda among others, i) Redirect Laptop project money to Counties. This money should be used as economic stumilus for local job creation, j) Carry out better due diligence on Railway project and implement it as soon as possible, k) Common sense works wonders most of the time.
