I am anxiously waiting to close on an old farmhouse in Upstate New York. Its not a large parcel of land, just under 1.5 acres, but it should be big enough for chickens and a couple of goats. There is a small barn to house them in already. Our goal is to get in and settled before winter really hits. We plan on growing produce during the winter months using hydroponic systems and perhaps aquaponics as well. It will be so nice to leave the D.C. area and all of its congestion and get back to the basics.
