I am appalled by the reports we see in our newspapers regarding the little girl who by now i believe is in Qatar. As a mother, i do not understand the level of naivety of the mother, or that of the extended family. She got told on numerous occasions NOT to sign off her childs custody to Ms Kirsten-May yet she went ahead and did it? How legal is this adoption if the Social workers did not facilitate it? Does it mean any white lady can go to any seemingly distraught and desperate mother and ask them to sign a set of documents, which evidently in the case of Ms Kopo were incomprehensible? Where was the department of Labor and Home Affairs in all this? I blame the father, for he was NOT a father from the onset. Whether or not they had separated immediately after birth is either here nor there. How do you provide for a child that you do NOT see. That is remote control parenting! Throwing money towards the development of the child. Had he been a part of her life, however minimally, he would have seen a lot is not in place with regards to the placement of his minor child from day one! When the courts awarded him custody of the child, did this then nullify the adoption or it was temporary? Uprooting the child from the father/ or mother subsequent to the ruling was a clear indication of the violation of law. An order of custody had been granted by the courts. To the father!! Why then did the child get taken away??? This is a child were are talking about! Not some chess piece that should have been moved around as and when the smartest player pleased! One moment she is with Ms Kirsten-May, the next with her father, and then her mother and then off to Qatar? It is a very traumatic experience for the child! Did anybody ever consider this?? Borra, emisang go tlhokomela bana o ka re lo tlhokomela loruo! Baby mamas ga se badisa ba bana ba lona. Be there! Or you will lose your kids!!
