I am at another crossroads in the krusty saga. My original plan was to run 5 lug discs on the 3 drop axle I have and use the camaro rearend I bought. Upon further inspection of the spindles on drop axle I noticed some pitting and a spot where it looks like a bearing my have failed. I have another stock axle laying around with the later bendix brakes laying around so I took it apart to see how the spindles looked. They look good as well as the wheel bearings. Now Im thinking repack the bearings and put spindles, and bendix brakes on my drop axle and use the 55.1 rear axle I have. Both the camaro and 55.1 rear need new brakes. If the cost of rebuilding the bendix brakes isnt too bad Im considering using them to utilize more of the parts I have around and keep it more nostalgic with the original parts. What does it cost to rebuild the front and rear brakes on the older parts? Can I get them at a local parts store or do I jave to order them. I know the newer rear and disc brakes would be more practical for a daily driver, but this truck wont be.
