I am baffled by the hatred of government these days. I was able to work my way through college while raising my daughter without crippling my life with debt. The government helped of course. I now pay much more in taxes than if I had never finished college. i was an investment. Certain political groups no longer seems to see young people as an investment. Now theres so much angry rhetoric that I dont understand. Well, the issue has finally started to really bother me because the amount of litter on our hi ways has suddenly become embarrassing. What does this mean? I can remember decades ago before the governments hiway beautification act when the roads and waysides of this country (and I did an amazing amount of cross country travel as a child) looked like trash dumps. That all started to change in the 60s and our byways became beautiful. This month I took a trip to Columbia, SC along I 26 and it was 90 miles of trash on both sides of the road. Horrible. I hope we get past this anti community, anti government craziness soon. I want my lovely country back! And I support free Junior college for high school grads!
