I am calling for a strike against buying Chinese-made products.. Anything bought in China, when you spend your money on a product manufactured there, you are directly supporting the chinese government. And, you are putting Americans out of work. The most egregious of the outlets that is selling Chinese products is Wal-Mart. At this time, 91-93% of all products in a Wal-Mart store (excluding food) is manufactured in china. Regardless of the brand names, and many have American names and are American corporations, many of these products are NOT made here. Let me explain something about manufacturing and job generation. For every manufacturing job in a town/city, that job generates about 6 more jobs in support in the general economy. No other sector of our economy generates this sort of job support. Example: The new Boeing plant in Charleston, SC that is manufacturing the new 787s, has several thousand employees. This new plant, has generated an estimated 10,000 more jobs to the local economy over the last couple of years. No bank, no service jobs, no white collar jobs generate more for the local economy than a good manufacturing base. We must get our manufacturing back. Now is a great time to make this happen, with all the new ways of manufacturing, the American worker can be competitive with anyone in the world. The new Andriod Moto x phone is made in the Motorola Plants in Austin. The cost differential between manufacturing that unit here versus in China is about 4 dollars per unit. Look at the manufacturing tags on anything that you buy. I know that chinese products are impossible to get away from, but do try.. send a message to the corporations that manufacturing must come back to the USA.. OUR future depends on it.
