I am concerned about the way in which a Cinti. Police Officer - TopicsExpress

I am concerned about the way in which a Cinti. Police Officer stopped my son while he was driving precisely at the speed limit and in no violation, on his way to work Sunday morning. The officer was verbally abusive; harrassed and threatened my son, and destroyed some of his property, before throwing his license back into his face. My son has been posting information about deadly police encounters with African American young men. He has been asking important questions in his FB posts, about the equality of Justice under the law. His supervisors and friends at work begged him when he came in late, visibly shaken, not to share any more information or ask any more questions in public or on FB. Not even to say anything about what had happened to him. They fear for his life. It has me wondering. No one else was around. If my son had been African American, this officer could easily have asserted that he felt threatened by him, and just shot him. If my son had not been schooled daily in the utmost self-discipline in extremely stressful and threatening situations, he could have raised his voice or run or tried to defend himself, and it would all have been over. I even worry about posting what happened on my own page. If someone has a vendetta against my son, they no doubt watch his family. Or it could be against me after all, since I served on the Citizens Police Review Panel when the Justice Department first ordered it in Cinti. But are we really living in such a police state that we cannot tell the truth in our own space to our own friends? I agree it´s a good idea for my son to ¨lay low¨ even though I hate for his young, fresh, passionate voice and questions to be silenced. He is no threat to anyone except for people who want to run the world through dominance and violence. But someone has to say something. I will take the risk, and I hope someone reads this and wonders.
