I am conflicted, A few month ago, I was walking in to the building were I live when the dog that live in apt- ( will not give number) bit me. They would let it run loose through the hall in the backyard. The reason it did not go nuts on me is because I am very level headed and did not panic, but it did draw blood. She is a pittbul but that has nothing do with her behavior. The owner barely apologized but I decided not to call ASPC as I knew they would probably euthanize the dog. The super had become terrified of going in the back yard, and the dog was tricky, could go off on anyone throwing garbage. I did tell the board, - I am on it- did send them a letter telling them that they should not do that, documented the incident and told them to not let the dog run around, the management and the board told them to not let the dog run loose or there would be consequences. As of late they have let the dog run around again, loose in the backyard at night. I felt really conflicted, I do not want an animal to get in trouble, but I do not want people in the building to be put at risk. The dog is neurotic but not inherently mean. I is a biter, I know. I figure what if someone goes to throw out their trash, or walks in the building innocently to go home. I told the rest of the board and the management. It looks like the lawyer wants to send them a letter stating that this is the second offense and the dog got a reprieve after the first documented bite and should be removed or else. I am feeling really guilty. It is such a conundrum. Ah, this sucks.
