I am currently in contact with the Eileen Area Historical Society, attempting to find more information about William E Nickel, a son of Herman F.W. & Caroline Nickel and a brother to my grandfather Emil. I received this from them after my enquiry. Good Morning, My husband, George Setzke, and I are board members of the Eileen Area Historical Society (EAHS), and George is a Town Supervisor. He remembers his mother and dad talking about Bill Nickel sheering sheep on our farm. The EAHS is in the process of writing two books about the Town of Eileen and its residents, the first one being family histories. Bill Nickel is mentioned. George has an all-day out of town meeting today, but we’ll try to find information for you ASAP. The Wisconsin Historical Society Archives at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center should be able to help find the obit. You’ll find them by typing nglvc to search. Then look for WHS archives. They do have microfilm of newspapers; because you have his death date, it should be an easy search. RE: pictures, we can ask at our October meeting. The Nickels lived on the north western end of the town, west of the NGLVC. We’ll be in touch. George and Kathleen Setzke
