I am exhausted after a tiring day of doing nothing! Some of you are probably saying cynically No change there then! However i am on a 2 week contract - have been out all day literally done nothing and earnt my day rate of £130!!! Exhausted because i woke up 4:30am, lay waiting for 6am to roll round, left house to get 6:50am train for 1.20hr journey. Got to the school (actually a pupil referral unit so no more than 30 odd kids at any one time), did morning briefing at 8:30am and waited for my cover timetable. Today being a strike day it was reduced anyway - my one regular class out of 6 periods was cancelled and as only 7 kids showed up, there was no cover. I literally had to wait around on call all day until 4:30pm which would have been tolerable (as i could log on the net and read/do some writing) but my bad nights sleep gave me a headache which lasted all day despite aspirins so i felt ill and bored and the day seemed to last forever! Wish i actually was given something to do to earn my fee!!!!
