I am feeling very grateful for a lot right now. What caused me - TopicsExpress

I am feeling very grateful for a lot right now. What caused me to start thinking tonight is that I am stuck hanging out for the next half an hour. Literally, I started Cervical Traction last week for half an hour on lunch and half an hour at night. Basically I strap a harness to my chin that is connected to a few pulleys, then connected to a bag full of 12 pounds of water hanging behind me and let it hang there. The list keeps growing of what they are finding wrong with me so they keep trying different things to fix me up. The traction is because my neck has gone completely straight (typically people have about a 40 degree curve in theirs) and it is pushing on my disks, causing some of the pain in my neck, shoulder and arm. To move past that, out of the doom and gloom sound of that, since I have a lot more time where I am just stuck in one place, left with my thoughts and my laptop it got my thinking of how well planned out this injury and just life is (thank you God for perfect planning) so here is my list of what I am grateful for and why: I am grateful for my job, and not only my job, but the fact that through all of the pain and therapy, I was able to get a promotion into the most amazing job I have ever had. I am grateful for all the years I got to spend with Rachelle Stepro before having to deal with any of this. Most people wait just about until they are my age currently to get married. I knew with everything in me that getting married so young was a great idea, now looking back, one of those reasons is we had almost ten years until we got to the "in sickness and in health" part of our vows I am grateful for being a dad at such a young age. for the same reasons, I am so grateful to know that I got to hold my boys when they were babies, carry them on my shoulders when they were toddlers and wrestle with them when they were little boys. If we would have waited the standard 5-7 years to have kids after being married, I would have missed a lot of that. I am grateful the brain I have been given. If I would have been born in any other time period, I would either be eaten by a wild animal while trying to hunt, or collapsed in a field while trying to be a farmer or probably run over by something working on an assembly line. I am able to go through any physical issues while still being able to provide for my family and do something I really enjoy. Lastly (but should have been firstly) I am grateful for God, who has given this all to me, and planned it all out in such an amazing way.
