I am going to miss working in the Pinewood Methodist Church yard. After almost three years of caring for the grounds, two of the church trustees asked to meet with me yesterday evening. At which time, I was informed that several of the older ladies, and the two trustees themselves, had made the decision that a change was to be made....and that they were taking over the mowing duties and the grounds care. I know that this is not about money...I charged 35.00 to mow the grass each time. (That is half the amount of what was being paid before I began....it was an effort on my part to save our church some money) All of the caring of flowers, watering, pruning, cutting, hauling, chopping, and digging...I did for free, out of my love for the Lord and my church. I am in hopes that the 3 or 4 people who are so eager to take over these duties, find the same peace that I have while working in the church yard these past few years. I look forward to remaining in my seat on the rear left hand pew, just as I have since my return to this church and community....which I love. Ps; The two older church ladies who were identified as the ones not pleased, are life long dear friends of mine...I love them the same today as I did before this situation arose.
