I am grateful for the relative political freedom we still have left to enjoy in the United States and my heart is glad when I see justice being furthered in the laws of the land. However, I rejoice even more (by order of magnitude) when I see the Kingdom of God advance in the souls of men, when hearts are changed and, by the grace of God, people turn from darkness to light to embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ. So let us indeed spend efforts to make laws that restrain evil and do good. But let us be much more fervent and zealous for proclaiming the gospel to (and praying for) our family, friends, neighbors and colleagues, their only hope for true redemption, which saves from real bondage and the wrath to come.... and, more importantly, ensures we will finally see and embrace them on That Day when all those who trust in Christ are raised in bodily resurrection to eternal life.
