I am humbled and flattered by all of the private message questions I am getting on Common Core. It is good to know people are having dialog about it. Just to clarify........I am no expert by any means, I have simply chosen to be very informed on the subject. I AM an involved parent. Everyday after school I spend an hour or more with my kids going over what they did at school and homework. Some of the things they share ARE quite distressing, but many others are right in line with what I remember school being about. My biggest qualm with Common Core is I dont believe all children should be held to the same standard..........at some point this will have a negative implications on all levels of students, whether some are being dumbed down, others being held to a standard that is too high....... If God wanted us all to be the same, He would have made us all the same color, with the same build, same height, same hair, same eyes, same mind, etc., etc. I dont feel CC leaves room for individualism.
