I am incredibly saddened by the news of Gordon Tullocks passing. His work had a tremendous impact on my personal development as an economist. I based my MA thesis on his research on bureaucracy (along with Mises). His was inspiring and never boring. I have chuckled over many of his footnotes (particularly the one about the student who obviously didnt understand the experiment he was participating in). I had the honor of working down the hall from him for a short time. If there is a Nobel awarded for work on rent seeking at any point in time, I will be rioting.
