I am not a huge fan of organized religion, but I do respect others - TopicsExpress

I am not a huge fan of organized religion, but I do respect others choices. I have a very good friend that chose the River of Life Church and chose to be married by this church approximately 9 years ago. Her husband was in jail before the marriage and he agreed to join the River of Life once he was released. My friends husband was mentally and emotionally abusive to her throughout the marriage and left her and the kids without support or income and then claimed bankruptcy. My friend and her husband attended marriage counseling and it was not working for them. The husband continued to attend this church and my friend felt forced out. The United Church on 13th Street North welcomed my friend with open arms. My friend visited the River of Life Church today to speak to Pastor Lawrence about her husband. He turned my friend away and called her a lier. My friend has documented proof about on-going personal issues regarding her marriage. She told Pastor Lawrence to ask her husband to provide written proof about the truth that her husband supposedly speaks of, and she told the Pastor that she could provide written proof of the truth that she speaks of. Pastor Lawrence turned his back on my friend once a valued member. This is an example of why I do not follow or believe in organized religion! Churches are supposed to represent love, hope, and forgiveness - but Pastor Lawrence of the River of Life Church in Lethbridge is a true hypocrite! What a disappointment to all those who reach out to that church for help or love or forgiveness or support!!! I almost puked in my mouth today!!!! FAIL TO RIVER OF LIFE ROL LETHBRIDGE. FAIL TO PASTOR LAWRENCE!!!
