I am not immune to the occasional vitriol and this is just such an occasion. This is an open letter to the monster that shot Adonis Dear Monster, Due to the ubiquitous nature of social media, you will at some occasion see this correspondence. At such time, I am well aware, that it will NOT touch your iced-heart in the least, but I do have some parting thoughts for you. For you see the job you endeavored to perform was only partially successful. You attempted not only to snuff out an innocent life, for whatever reason, you in addition intended for the recipient of your cruelty to suffer long and agonally until such time he died, painful and alone. What prompts such a monstrous mind to perform such a heinous deed? What makes those you profess to love, safe from your amoral behaviour? If you are capable of visiting this heinous atrocity upon one so innocent, then you can do to them likewise. It was your intention to ultimately kill him, but you did not succeed. This innocent betrayed your cruel intentions. He lives, loves and thrives despite your hatred and cruelty. There is no deed this dog could have done you, that merited this abusive behavior. I have compassion, pity and fear for those who cross our path or wrath. Apparently you lack the moral barometer to gauge what governs a moral human’s decent behavior. Yes, Adonis suffered mercilessly for possibly weeks before he was found by someone whose behavior did not emulate your own. You nearly succeeded, NEARLY! He defied your bitterness and hatred and you unwittingly unleashed the guarantee of a vastly improved life. Adonis will never give you another thought. HE WINS, and YOU LOSE, Monster! Must be horrible to reside within that dark abyss you call your mind, soulless and cruel. I am left to wonder. Were you the monster he called master? If so, what other evil did you bestow upon him? His body is a testament, literally, of hundreds of scars. He will bear you no grudge; he has forgiven! He bears you no ill will, unlike I. He would continue to protect you, even if it meant sacrificing his own life. Your depravity escapes the ability of a moral person to comprehend, let alone left to act upon. May God have mercy on your soul for I have none to spare, and if I had, I would not spare it for someone of your ilk. There are none worse than those who abuse an innocent, be it child, animal, or the elderly. May the world be rid of you and your kind soon enough and may Adonis story and survival take up residency in your mind and empty soul to show you that some do escape your cruel intentions. HE succeeded, YOU failed!!! -Anne
