I am openly atheist and one huge contributor to this mindset is the millions of people not just killed, but brutally murdered in the name of one god or another. Im not trying to trample any bodies religion, but a world with no religion, nothing to live or die for would be headed toward a peaceful world would it not? I know people are always gonna feud, but religion has always fueled the biggest nastiest conflicts in all of history. And when religion finally sparks a nucular war well find out who is right or wrong, what if your all right, or all wrong? It just doesnt make since to me to kneel and take death for a faith based belief, no more than cutting off a childs head for your own faith based beliefs. Maybe the earth is our god and shes had enuf of our ignorance and will execute us all for our actions.
