I am proud to be a veteran and when I took the oath of office in - TopicsExpress

I am proud to be a veteran and when I took the oath of office in 1973, three-fourths of Congress was made up of veterans, now that number is close to 20%. Today my colleagues and I announced the creation of the Veterans Congressional Fellowship Caucus, with the hopes of increasing the number of veterans working in Washington, D.C. and back home on behalf of Congressional Members. By employing veterans, I believe we can change the attitudes of Congress when it comes to fully understanding how our decisions affect our veterans and military. Our nation’s veterans have already dedicated so much to serve this great nation and I feel confident this program will give them the skills and resources needed to continue their service on Capitol Hill.
