I am sick to my stomach by the invasion of corporate henchmen hiding inside our government systems. It has become obvious in so many ways that our leadership is not a government for the people. This illusion of democracy is really a mangled governance system bordering on a full fledged dictatorship! The sad thing is we are all seeing a lot of back stabbing and back room deals going down on B.C.T.V news and people now consider this normal behavior for leadership in B.C. After a long period of complete silence our Finance Minister bluntly announces in the media government cant afford to settle with teachers. He said there is room for a very modest increase even though we have taken 0% for the last 3 years while everything else sky rocketed after smart meters were enforced. He then dropped a FEAR BOMB into a VOLATILE situation. Be aware of the age old bullying tactics that other dictators have used: If all else fails inflict more pain & FEAR then continue to kick them when they are down, demoralize them publicly, then shock them into submission. Now the Shocker!: If the teachers continue to speak up and force government to properly fund public education they will have to raise taxes by $200 a year from all home owners! Now this is a super threat to everyone they want tax payers in B.C to fear them.!! They said they will never consider raising taxes to the corporations. Corporations who continue to contaminate our environment pay no taxes. Please remember, Christy Clarks executive staff, I call them her corporate henchmens they had their wages increase by 18% in 2011, all on the backs of tax payers, while they short changed B.C. children by $1000 each a year. They have been doing so for the last 12 years. Now they dont want to fix the mess they caused they want to blame it all on the greedy teachers and make them pay for their greedy mistake or was it a mistake? Remember the global party they threw to open all the doors to big Corporations? Many backroom deals and promises were made to sell more raw resources. They made some promises they can not keep. They forgot to ask the people who legally own the land and it is not in their best interest to recognize their constitutional rights that is way to expensive. First Nations want to create jobs but in an environmentally safe way with negotiations in good faith! We do not want to become the Walmart for the World selling our resources and land for rock bottom prices and leave toxic wastes behind. This government has been living high off the hog while we all suffer a thousand deaths. Here in the northwest we continue to watched them steal our land & waterways! How can we continue to watch? People are fearful so they continue to dismantle our schools; continue contaminating our water, selling our land to foreign investors, and continue to contaminate our airwaves to create more civil unrest. All this is in the name of progress! The progress is for corporate greed and it is accelerating fast! the spins are getting down right evil. Now a 1% increase a year for teachers has become too much for teachers to ask; especially after their wages were frozen for the last 3 years. This government is playing on everyones FEARS as they continue to conspire to dismantle public education in B.C. Dont be sucked into all this fear mongering they are counting on it. Instead Educate your self on the underlying issues that lead up to this big dramatic fiasco B.C.T.V. news and social media. In my opinion It is all about dismantling public education to create private schools or underfunded public ghetto schools. A quality education is no longer a right in B.C. Education has become a privilege for the rich. Our Governments actions or inaction have made it very clear they no longer value public education or teachers and that corporate interests come 1st! They have made it clear that they will not consider increasing corporate taxes because they have grown use to sleeping with the enemy of education. Corporation do not need an educated work force only slaves to work til they drop and wont ask for benefits or worry about the environment. Thanks to B.C. teachers who cared about all of those things.
