I am so grateful to my father. He allowed me to pursue my music in Chennai, India. It is a great experience staying alone adapting the new environment. I love the fact that i cycled all the way to Kotturpuram from Vananthurai to meet my beloved guru. Daily i will have my Bharatha Natyam classes and alternate days i will go for my Veena & Voice Culture classes. My mentors constantly motivate and advice me not to give up whenever i feel down. Without them, i could have gave up my music. I have a group of wonderful friends in India. Without them my musical journey will be very empty. Daily i have to force my self to wake up at 4am and run for my Yoga class followed by my daily music sadhana. Although it is tiring but i feel complete. Every single mistake i made in my music class, my Guru will ask me to repeat that 50 times again and again till i sing it correctly. Many people used to laugh and criticise my pronunciation. Some even humiliate me yet i have to smile and continue learning. Music is not easy but i feel satisfied. I never complain. It is because of all the hardships, today i appreciate music more than my life. With my Gurus blessings i able to enjoy music more. No Pain.. No Gain.. Over the years of teachings. Except for a few students. I feel many of others are taking it for granted. They do not know how to value music. Things that comes easily, will not be appreciated. Learning music is no longer a journey. Sad. I thank God that i have a hand full of students that appreciate and working very hard towards music. That is the Grace of Sai! Some of them started discovering new things in music and the best part, they discover their own talents by themselves through identifying ragas and etc. I hope the younger generation wil take up music seriously and not taking it for granted. Music is a journey.. It will never end... Music is life!
