I am so sick of people whinging that National got into power - - TopicsExpress

I am so sick of people whinging that National got into power - this is why I voted National. The key aspect to remember is that there is an intrinsic relationship between the environment, society and our economy - they all need each other. As a evil dairy farmer (forgive me lord for all my sins!), we understand that the environment plays an important part in our operation. We also realise the fruits of our efforts go back into the local economy and support the people of NZ through ensuring an income from our global exports. Ultimately, in order to look after the environment, we need an economy and people, in order to look after our people we need the environment and the economy. In order to look after our economy we need the environment and people. The issue with the Greens is that they are all environment and the issue with labour is that they are all people - how is this going to work if you neglect your economy? This is why I voted National, because I believe that in the medium to longer term I think it is better for all New Zealanders. The election for me, was not all about me and what I get, but more about trying to ensure that the governance of this country delivers in every area. We need to lift the standard of living, educate our people, create goals and objectives and motivate people. Once we all start walking in the same direction, we as a country can move forward. This country has become a country where people expect to live off the governemnt’s teat – how is this good for our economy. People that are genuinely on a benefit, I have no issues about, but those that leach off the government on the back of you and I working is something that I vehemently despise. I also get frustrated when people only look at things with the blinkers on. We all need to keep looking at the bigger picture. As I once said to a greenie friend – you can’t live off mung-beans your whole life. All human activity will have some sort of environmental impact. This has been happening since man first put foot on this country, let alone the world. If we want the life we have, then there is a cost – which in such situation is the cost of environmental degradation. As a true Green – we should all stop having children because an increasing population is placing pressure on the world’s global resources. We should also stop our consumerism – this is also placing pressure on the world’s resources. Is it right that people are financially better off in this country and stay at home and breed children? –I say no. All I am asking is to think without blinkers and look at the bigger picture.
