I am so sorry I left you all hanging last night. Nilo did not get - TopicsExpress

I am so sorry I left you all hanging last night. Nilo did not get back home from the ER until after 1AM and I was exhausted. Mozart came home with him. He is doing better this morning. Dr. Finster believes that he has a smoldering urinary tract infection due to the long term steroid therapy for his chronic skin allergies. She did an ultrasound and noted some changes in his kidney consistent with an infection. His fever was just under 104 when he got there. They did a culture of his urine to see what they grow and he is on Clavamox. If the culture comes back positive for infection, he will be on the antibiotic for a longer time. His skin issues are acute. He has been on a maintenance dose of this steroid for the last 4 years. Our Niko was as well. We never had any issues like this before. Mozarts fever is down this morning and he seems much more alert. All three are going to our local vet this morning to accompany Caspar on his first visit. I will have George (our vet) look at him again. Thank you for everyones support last night. I am sorry I did not follow up. It was a much longer night than I expected. I will keep you posted.
