I am sure each of you have noticed that our rustic street lights start at the intersection of Washington Street and Main Street and run through the old downtown area and end at the intersection of Water Street and Main Street. You will recall after the Flood of 85 , our town was given money to spruce up our downtown area and as a result we got these street lights and new sidewalks with brick inserts and benches. If you have not already done it, the next time you approach this area imagine what this area is going to look like when the fire company puts up the overhead Christmas decorations and we put up some red ribbons on the street lights at the stop light area, and the Mullin Hotel is all decorated and Saturday, December 7th comes around. I envision the downtown area filled with people standing along the streets and sitting on the porch at the Mullin Hotel and the parking lot filled with people all who have the Christmas spirit and many holding candles while we talk about our Community Christmas Tree and its significance to the community and we anxiously await the arrival of Santa Claus and the elves to arrive by horse and carriage to light our Christmas tree and declare this to be the beginning of the Christmas season.
