I am sure youve heard this: It has been estimated that vaccination with 7 of the 12 routinely recommended childhood vaccines prevents an estimated 33,000 deaths and 14 million cases of disease in every birth cohort, saves $10 billion in direct costs in each birth cohort, and saves society an additional $33 billion in costs that include disability and lost productivity. Oh gosh... how on Earth do they come up with these numbers? Thirty three thousand death. Fourteen million cases of disease. And millions and millions of dollars in losses... how on Earth do they calculate that? Well, apparently these numbers are pulled out of the thin air. Theres nothing - nothing! - to back them up. Just as theres nothing to back up the lie that presumably, nuking Hiroshima prevented half a million soldiers death. Sometimes I just want to throw my head back and scream: People, how can you be so gullible!
